The Ascott Limited Vietnam

To date, Ascott has contributed a total sum of VND 230 million towards relief efforts in Vietnam. Their contributions have supported the retrofitting of houses for the underprivileged, and supported the education of more than 400 children in Ho Chi Minh City, and the Dong Nai and Nam Dinh provinces. Donations include contributions from staff and residents at the Somerset properties in Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City.

Ascott’s Somerset Chancellor Court gifted four retrofitted houses, costing a total of VND 80 million to the poor in the Binh Khanh commune in Ho Chi Minh City’s Can Gio district.

Meanwhile in Hanoi, their staff also organised a trip to the Yen Loc A Primary School in the Nam Dinh province, to clean and paint furniture and to bring school supplies to its 300 students. Over 50 staff and residents from Hanoi and CapitaLand Vietnam participated in the event. Apart from helping with renovations, the volunteers also spent time engaging the students and teaching them Origami.

The team in Hanoi also held car and bike washes, and sold ‘Pencils of Promise’ – handmade craft made out of pencils, raising a total of more than VND 110 million for the school, which was used to rebuild two classrooms and purchase school supplies and other necessary equipment.

Twenty staff and residents from Ho Chi Minh City’s Somerset Serviced Residences visited the Die Phap orphanage in the Dong Nai province, to make donations in the form of food items, toys and books worth VND 40 million to over 100 children and elderly members of the community.
