Intel Corporation (also known as Intel, stylized as intel) is an American multinational corporation and technology company headquartered in Santa Clara, California, in the Silicon Valley.

Intel supplies processors for computer system manufacturers such as Apple, Lenovo, HP, and Dell. Intel also manufactures motherboard chipsets, network interface controllers and integrated circuits, flash memory, graphics chips, embedded processors and other devices related to communications and computing.

Their global team, over 107,000 strong across 58 countries, is a powerhouse of engineering and technological excellence that empowers solutions to the world's toughest problems while creating the technology of tomorrow.

Set up in 1997, Intel Semiconductor Ltd., the sales and marketing office in Ho Chi Minh City, develops and deploys sound strategies to provide world-class sales and marketing support at the OEM, developer and end-user levels.

At the end of 2006, Intel announced that it was going to invest USD 1 billion to construct its seventh and largest assembly test facility in Intel's global network to produce chipsets.

In July 2010, Intel Vietnam began using the latest Intel chipset technologies to produce chipsets that will help support the growth of mobile computing. In fact, Intel Vietnam started the use of the latest FCBGA (Flip Chip Ball Grid Array) binding technology for mobile processors. This facility is the first investment of its kind in the semiconductor industry in Vietnam. The 500,000 square foot facility will be the model for larger, more efficient assembly test facilities that will make Intel even more competitive.

As the first major foreign investor in high technology in Vietnam, the new facility supports Intel's digital ASEAN (d-ASEAN) program. The program works to develop a stronger digital workforce, integrate technology into education and government, and make technology more accessible for business and consumers within Southeast Asia.

With more than 96 percent participation in 2011, Intel Vietnam employees volunteered more than 20,000 hours giving back to the community. These hours also mean an $11,000 donation or "match" from the Intel Foundation as part of our Intel Involved Matching Grant Program, to be used to improve learning and teaching facilities, fund scholarships, and more.

Intel has a Diversity Initiative, including employee diversity groups as well as supplier diversity programs. Like many companies with employee diversity groups, they include groups based on race and nationality as well as sexual identity and religion. In 1994, Intel sanctioned one of the earliest corporate Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender employee groups, and supports a Muslim employees group, a Jewish employees group, and a Bible-based Christian group. Intel received a 100% rating on the first Corporate Equality Index released by the Human Rights Campaign in 2002. It has maintained this rating in 2003 and 2004. In January 2015, Intel announced the investment of $300 million over the next five years to enhance gender and racial diversity in their own company as well as the technology industry as a whole.
In February 2016, Intel released its Global Diversity & Inclusion 2015 Annual Report. The male-female mix of US employees was reported as 75.2% men and 24.8% women. For US employees in technical roles, the mix was reported as 79.8% male and 20.1% female. NPR reports that Intel is facing a retention problem (particularly for African Americans), not just a pipeline problem.
